Participation Policy

Assumption of Risk

4x4 Adventures Scotland Ltd is committed to guest safety and has taken all reasonable steps to ensure that activities are safe, enjoyable and rewarding.

By participating, guests acknowledge and accept that activities provided by 4x4 Adventures Scotland involve inherent hazards and risks which could result in injury, illness or death.  Guests must understand that there is no pressure to participate, and they may choose to take part in as little or as much of the activity as they feel comfortable with. Participants agree to abide by all instructions given by 4x4 Adventures Scotland Ltd staff and understand that staff may refuse participation if instructions are not followed.

Participants must make 4x4 Adventures Scotland Ltd staff aware of any physical or health conditions which may affect participation in the activity, this information will be treated in the strictest confidence. If guests have any questions as to what skills, maturity, physical or mental requirements are necessary to properly participate in the activities, guests will direct those questions to 4x4 Adventures Scotland.

Driving Licenses

Off-road adventures take place off the public highway, on private ground and tracks that we have exclusive access to. While no off-road driving experience is required, guests wishing to drive off road, under instruction, must have a good practical understanding of vehicle controls and be confident and competent in the control of a vehicle. For this reason, guests wishing to drive off road are expected to hold a driving license (valid in their home country).  4x4 Adventures Scotland do not require licenses to be produced by guests.

Guest’s level of English

During Off Road Driving Adventures, guests are offered the opportunity to get behind the wheel and experience driving our Land Rovers off-road, while under supervision of our adventure guides.  To ensure the safety of all those in the vehicle, drivers must have a basic level of spoken English in order to understand and act on instruction.

Children on 4x4 Adventures

A Loch Lomond 4x4 Adventure is a fantastic family activity and we welcome guests of all ages.  To ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone in the vehicle, its important children are supervised by an appropriate adult.  Children aged 18 months to 4 years old should be supervised 1:1 by at least 1 adult per child.  Children aged 5+ should be supervised by at least 1 adult per vehicle.

Alcohol & 4x4 Adventures

4x4 Adventures Scotland has a zero tolerance policy on alcohol and driving.  Because we offer the opportunity for all guests to drive throughout an off-road driving adventure, no alcohol can be served to guests prior to the activity. If 4x4 Adventures Scotland are aware that alcohol is made available to participants, then no guests would be permitted to drive and instead the 4x4 Adventure would be an off-road guided tour for everyone - guests can relax as passengers, enjoy the world class scenery, and learn more about Loch Lomond’s unique & fascinating history from their kilted adventure guide.
